A social designer with background in textile design Julia Veldhuijzen van Zanten completed her studies at Central St. Martin’s College of Art and Design (London, 2010) and Social Design at Design Academy Eindhoven (The Netherlands, 2014). Inspired by a family member, in 2015 Julia co-founded LifeSense with a vision to empower women’s health with smart textiles. Together with her team she developed Carin, a smart textile and wearable solution helping women tackle urinary incontinence after childbirth, menopause and ageing. Since then, Carin is available in 28 countries, medically certified and has received €3,8 million in funding. Julia’s ambition is to continue designing meaningful products with a positive impact, like Carin!
